Trawling is a traditional fishing that fosters values of sharing, division of tasks, reciprocity and cooperation. In this itinerary, the public will follow the trawling carried out by local fishermen and will be able to interact and participate in the process in a practical way. On the tour, researchers together with fishermen will explain about this fishing system as an economic and cultural activity and an environmental education tool involving concepts of food, conservation and environmental impacts (such as waste in the sea), among other aspects. At the end, everyone will be invited to taste a dish served by the fishermen. The route, designed by the Environmental Protection Area (APA Marinha do Litoral Centro) with support from Sesc Bertioga, was built in a participatory way with local fishermen, with the aim of creating a sustainable fishing and tourism model.
